Moments stolen
In the driveway
Parking lot
Waiting room
Classroom
Before the bell rings
Before the lights switch off for the night
Because
On a napkin
A scrap of paper
On my laptop
In my notebook
I want to write
A notice
A wonder
A thought
A slice of life
I need to write

This post is part of the annual month-long Slice of Life writing challenge organized by Two Writing Teachers. Join us! It’s my third year of slicing in the challenge and I’m looking forward to writing and learning along with all of you.
This is just what I needed to read. Thank you sharing–I am getting paper right now to tuck in my purse so my thoughts can be jotted down. Now about those thoughts I have in the shower……LOL.

Great reminder to keep paper close by! Due to bloggers suggestions, I now carry a small notebook with me!

Isn’t it amazing that the more you write, the more you want to write. Any slip of paper will do. Have a great day of noticing and wondering!

I can so relate. I feel lost if I don’t have my notebook with me. You never know where or when inspiration will strike.

Those stolen moments usually contain so many incredible nuggets! I’ve had some great ideas sitting in the drive-thru at McDonald’s and CVS:)

I love this! I have been terrible over the past couple of months about taking my notebook with me and capturing all these little noticings. Your post has reminded me WHY I need to write them down and HOW much excitement and energy I used to have over catching all these little wonderings.

So glad you were able to capture those stolen moments – and remind the rest of us to always have pen and paper nearby.
Happy writing!

Love how you are able to ‘sneak in’ moments to write, and this poem is just the inspiration others might need to realize it only requires a few stolen moments. (Let us know how EdCampBoston went!)

So many great places to catch a moment. I totally feel like I pay more attention to “moments” during this month and keep my notebook with me. If I can just keep this up the rest of the year…

This is what I missed by writing quick writes this first week – that noticing and wondering! Week two is definitely changing!

Noticing the moments is something that gets stronger in March- now how I can keep that alive the rest of the year. I will share this with my students as they prepare for their April challenge.
