Today’s small moment slice took place last evening as I gathered with my Teach Write classmates for our weekly online writing session. There was a change this week.

Savoring this moment.
Sitting at my usually dark and lonely dining room table. Alone, apart from the glow of my laptop.
But things are different this evening.
Sun.
Light.
Hope.
All three stream through the windows all around me and dance across the walls, the table, my writing notebook, my mood.
No longer writing in darkness.
No longer alone.
Now I have the sun’s rays and the sky’s salmon-pink sunset to keep me company as I joyfully write this evening.

This post is part of the annual month-long Slice of Life writing challenge organized by Two Writing Teachers. Join us! It’s my third year of slicing in the challenge and I’m looking forward to writing and learning along with all of you.
This is the first positive post I’ve read about Daylight Savings Time; myself and others have commented on how tired and cranky we are each morning! Thanks for reminding me of the upside to this change in such a lovely way.

I agree whole heartedly with your slice–that late day sunshine is just the breath I needed to make it through March.

I love this reflection on the change to spring. The sun being out during our weekly writing group was definitely inspiring to me too. Thank you for sharing!
