She’s back!
At least I think she is.
Watching and waiting,
Morning, noon, and night.
Three weeks now, and nothing.
Until this morning.
It happened so fast.
Looking at just the right time,
I saw her — or him.
Circling once around the feeder, and then POOF she was gone.
Come back, my hummingbird!

Many thanks to the crew at Two Writing Teachers, and the extended SOL community, for giving us the time, space, and encouragement to live the writerly life here each Tuesday and every day in March. Won’t you join us?
I can feel the excitement in the return of your hummingbird friend! It happened so fast like the speed of the hummingbirds wings!

Fingers crossed! “My” hummingbirds have been back for about a week now. My husband even saw one of the hummingbirds eating the oranges we have out for the visiting orioles. It’s a glorious time of year for bird watching!

Oh thanks for the reminder. I must get my feeder out – hope I’m not too late!
I too thought I saw a sighting on Sunday!
Love the poem!
