Thankful Part 2 #SOLC20 #SOL20

Yesterday I sliced about the many people I encountered that I am thankful for in my school-related life. We are all working collaboratively to do right by our students now that we are closed indefinitely.  (You may read that post here.) Today I continue the gratitude for the many folks I saw this morning working hard at their jobs to support everyone else during a very challenging time. I hope they feel supported, too.

Thankful Part 2

***********************************************

Thanks for wondering and wandering a bit with me today. Many thanks to the crew at Two Writing Teachers, and the extended SOL community, for giving us the time, space, and encouragement to live the writerly life here every Tuesday throughout the year and daily during the month of March.

  1. This community is filled with library patrons mourning the closure of libraries everywhere. I too am grateful for the people working extra hard as the rest of the world shuts down.

  2. Hmmm. I had not heard libraries were closed around us. My husband went and stocked up two days ago, so we are set. I always have a pile of books that I want to read but do not have time to read – so I am set. But, yes, everyone is working hard in places we often overlook – grocery stores, convenience stores, custodial crews, and especially hospitals – I am extra thankful for healthcare workers at this time.

  3. Our library closed with about an hour’s notice. I wish they would have given us a warning. My daughter was not happy. I did notice today while I was at the store, that they were cleaning just about between every customer. Long days are ahead of many people who are trying to keep us safe!

  4. Gratitude goes a long way! We have so much to be thankful for. I like how you included twowritingteachers! It’s so true. I am calmer than I was before. Your slice and others has been a positive distraction and a place to know I’m not alone.
