One down, one to go #SOLSC #SOL21

“Did you take a pic getting your first shot or after? Going to start celebrating them in my Monday Memo.”

The answer to that text from my Principal last night was initially no. I had thought about it, but felt awkward snapping a selfie in CVS. So instead, in the comfort of my kitchen, this happened.

My husband was snoring away in the other room, so, propped up by a can of Trader Joe’s coffee sitting on top of a large jar of pretzels, I celebrated. Celebrated my first shot of Moderna. The next will follow at noon on Easter Sunday. Here’s hoping I feel as well after the second as I do after the first. That will be an Easter miracle.

Thanks for wondering and wandering a bit with me today. And many thanks to the crew at Two Writing Teachers, and the extended SOL community, for giving us the time, space, and encouragement to live the writerly life here every Tuesday throughout the year and daily during the month of March.

  1. So glad round 1 of Moderna was uneventful for you! Hoping the Easter Bunny brings you a giant surprise on Easter Sunday of a round 2 that is equally uneventful. My round 2 is this coming Saturday! I’m kind of dreading it but round 1 I got off the hook easy, so hoping round 2 is just the same.

  2. That’s worth celebrating! My first shot is on Friday. I have to drive 1 hour 45 minutes to get it as there are no shots available in cities in Missouri, only in rural areas. I’m already nervous about being the city girl driving into this tiny little town, so I’m not sure if I’ll snap a photo in the Walmart or not, but I’ll definitely get a shot selfie. This is history, right?

  3. Congrats on getting your first shot! And I’m glad you felt ok after. I got mine, too, and it was Moderna. I spent the next day in bed with a 101 fever, but I’m still grateful I got it. I didn’t think about taking a selfie–but I did take a photo of my Tweetie bandaid that they gave me after my shot!
