Three days of school to go and it’s my final SOL for the school year. That means more time for writing and posting is coming very soon! This week I’m revisiting and updating my “Almost There” post from last year to reflect changes that have occurred.
Almost There
Frogs returned
Digraphs learned
Assessments complete
New carpet’s beat
Pencils bitten
Report card comments written
Goodbye bags prepped
Promises kept
Technology unplugged
Children hugged
Bulletin boards bare
Almost there

Many thanks to the crew at Two Writing Teachers, and the extended SOL community, for giving us the time, space, and encouragement to live the writerly life here each Tuesday. Won’t you join us?
It seems strange that there are still places that are in school. In Colorado we have been out for over two weeks. Last night I was laying in bed counting the days until July 23rd, when I go back!

I can’t believe you are just now getting out. Hope you don’t start until September! Love the poem…and have a great summer! 🙂
